Professional and Biographical Information

  • Obituary Los Altos Town Crier, 29 July 2009
  • Biographical essay from the January 27, 1984 Twenty-year Service Awards program:

"Walter really first started with Stanford over 30 years ago when he spent three years at the University as a photographer. He came to SLAC in 1963 after spending eight years in Graphic Arts with SRI. Walter'’s contribution to the laboratory has been in two ways.

First, he has provided photographics, photo processing, technical illustration, visual aid, and special project services which have been prodigious in every sense of the word.

Second, he has created true works of art in visuals depicting technological devices and scientific concepts. (Walter has his BA in Applied Art from the Fine Arts Academy of Budapest and his MA in Fine Art from San Jose State.) His work not only has served the laboratory so well but also has been exhibited and published widely."
